The AIMS network is governed by the International Board of Directors (IBOD) who serve as the legal parent of the AIMS organization, and of each local entity.  The day-to-day operations of each entity are governed by a local board and management.

Former VP and Chief of Staff for three Presidents of the African Development Bank (AfDB), he has an extensive network among donor and development organizations.

Prof. Neil Turok (Chair), Director of the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and former Chair of Mathematical Physics, Cambridge University. Prof. Turok is the Founder of AIMS and currently Chair of the AIMS South Africa Council and Chair of the Board of AIMS-NEI.

Professor Thulisile Nomkhosi Madonsela

Thulisile Nomkhosi “Thuli” Madonsela is a South African advocate and Professor of law, holding a chair in social justice at Stellenbosch University since January 2018. She served as the Public Protector of South Africa from 19 October 2009 to 14 October 2016. In 1996, she helped draft the final constitution of South Africa promulgated by then President Nelson Mandela.

Professor Ruth Oniang’o

From 1978-1990 Professor Ruth Khasaya Oniang’o, PhD was a distinguished academic at Jomo Kenyatta University in Nairobi, Kenya becoming Professor of Food Science and Nutrition, becoming the first Nutrition professor in Kenya. She has influenced the development of Nutrition training, research, development and discourse in much of Africa and has participated in consultations and on committees at the international level whose decisions have shaped global food security and nutrition.

Abdel Kader Ndiaye

Abdel Kader Ndiaye was born in 1961, in Saint Louis, Senegal. He is married and father of three children. He is a polytechnic engineer, he graduated from the Polytechnic School of Thiès (EPT/ACDI).

He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA- Cadre) from UQAM and a Master 2 in Management and Regulation of Public Procurement (ENA / UCAD).
