The impact of PICSA on extension system, staff and practices

Host Institution: International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT).

 Location:  KG 563 ST, P.O. Box 1269, Kacyiru, Kigali, Rwanda.

 Supervisors: Dr. Desire M. Kagabo (Ph.D), Scientist, Climate Services for Agriculture, CIAT (The research team from CIAT or CCAFS, IRI, University of Reading working with the Rwanda Climate Services for Agriculture Project will be available to supervise the interns).

Project Description :

Understanding how PICSA is influencing extension systems and the attitudes and behaviors of extension managers and farmer promoters will make an important contribution in the context of climate services and agricultural extension in Rwanda. Working with the project team the intern will provide a valuable input into this. Furthermore the study will help to: understand impact in terms of the extent to which PICSA is influencing the thinking and practice of government extension and NGOs. Findings will provide evidence for policy makers in considering future activities.
