Establish underlying link between use of climate services and input use, agricultural productivity and incomes

Host Institution: International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT).

 Location:  KG 563 ST, P.O. Box 1269, Kacyiru, Kigali, Rwanda.

 Supervisors: Dr. Desire M. Kagabo (Ph.D), Scientist, Climate Services for Agriculture, CIAT (The research team from CIAT or CCAFS, IRI, University of Reading working with the Rwanda Climate Services for Agriculture Project will be available to supervise the interns).

Project Description :

  • Socio-demographic characterization of households who have accessed and use climate services
  • Usefulness of climate services for households (perception analysis)
  • Factors influencing uptake of climate services
  • Change in households’ farm management following uptake of climate services (establish the changes and their measures)
  • Agricultural productivity effect of change in farm management decisions
