Waterloo commits to ensuring that each graduate student who is accepted receives up to CDN$19,600 in annual support inclusive of awards external to the university.
Application fee waiver
AIMS students applying to the Faculty of Mathematics can have their application fee waived through the following process:

  1. The student will need to complete the application in full. Once the application is completed, the student will need to select the “cheque” option for the application fee.  The student must then finish completing the application and SUBMIT. 
  2. Once submitted, the student will receive a copy of the Remittance Form which has their OUAC Reference Number on it.
  3. The student will then need to print this remittance form as a PDF, name it as Firstname_Lastname.pdf and email to asharma@nexteinstein.org.
  4. Please note that there are a limited number of fee waivers available and not all students may have their fees waived.
  5. All applications should be completed by 29.2.2012 at the latest.

Application fee waiver
For international applicants whose citizenship and correspondence address is located in one of the world's 50 least developed countries, as declared by the United Nations, application fees will be waived. A complete list of eligible countries is here: http://www.unohrlls.org/en/ldc/related/62/
The UBC Department of Chemistry covers the application fee for all of its applicants.
For applicants from AIMS-South Africa, a limited number of application fee waivers may be available - to avail of this, complete your application to UBC as usual and send an email to asharma@nexteinstein.org to inform him of your application.

      United States 

      Fulbright Program Grants
      Fulbright offers competitive, merit-based grants for Students, Scholars, Teachers, and Professionals.  Fulbright operates on a yearly application cycle, which generally (but not in all cases) opens approximately 15 months before the anticipated start of the grant with a deadline approximately 11 or 12 months before the grant's start date.

      The International Fulbright Science and Technology Award, a component of the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, supports doctoral study at leading U.S. institutions in science, technology, engineering or related fields for outstanding foreign students.

      Education USA Opportunity Program
      Opportunity Program is funded by the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Its purpose is to assist highly qualified students of very limited financial means with the cost of applying and getting to US universities.
