United States

National Society of Black Physicists

The National Society of Black Physicists (NSBP) has a programme which allows students to upload a full graduate school application profile including academic history, transcripts, letters of recommendation and a personal statement.  Graduate programs in the US and around the world subscribe to this database and can contact prospective students for campus visit invitations, or an offer of admissions and financial aid.  Thus with a single application, many graduate schools can indicate their interest in your profile and motivate an application.  The NSBP has entered into a partnership with AIMS and has created a special page for AIMS graduates to register their interest.  This opportunity is also open to AIMS alumni.  The application is here.

Fulbright Program Grants
Fulbright offers competitive, merit-based grants for Students, Scholars, Teachers, and Professionals.  Fulbright operates on a yearly application cycle, which generally (but not in all cases) opens approximately 15 months before the anticipated start of the grant with a deadline approximately 11 or 12 months before the grant's start date.

The International Fulbright Science and Technology Award
The International Fulbright Science and Technology Award, a component of the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, supports doctoral study at leading U.S. institutions in science, technology, engineering or related fields for outstanding foreign students.

Education USA Opportunity Program
Opportunity Program is funded by the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Its purpose is to assist highly qualified students of very limited financial means with the cost of applying and getting to US universities.
