AIMS-NEI envisages achieving its goal of fifteen AIMS centers throughout Africa by 2021 in phases which have been carefully planned to allow for flexibility to slow or accelerate its progress. Through the NEI program, AIMS-Senegal and AIMS-Ghana are the first two AIMS centers to join the AIMS network. As demonstrated by AIMS–South Africa, their shared passion for science will bridge cultural and national divides and build a joint commitment to an improved future for Africa. Students are now able to study in English or French and choose from the specialties offered by each center.
